AS/400 HELP    

                                       "PROFILES2" 

                                  

 

PROFILES2  displays a  list of profiles.  It uses an *outfile of DSPUSRPRF. Disabled profiles are highlighted.  API QSYLOBJA is run twice to get the amount of DB storage  and  objects each profile owns and  the IFS objects owned by this profile.

PROFILES2 was developed at V5.1  For later releases you may need to recompile PROFILES2 if IBM increases the length of the work file of DSPUSRPRF  and /or changes the layout of QSYLOBJA formats OBJA0100 and OBJA0110. 

PROFILES2 will take some time to collect the data for all profiles. Use the omit parameters to bypass certain profiles and save time. (see AS/400 instructions below)

 

PC INSTRUCTIONS:

Download "PROFILES2” to your PC.

Go to a DOS session and enter the following;

FTP SYSTEM                                        (system = your AS/400’s name or IP address)

Enter a valid user id and password

CD QGPL

LCD C:\DIRECTORY (directory= the directory on your pc where you downloaded “ profiles2s.savf”

QUOTE    SITE     NAMEFMT   1

BIN

PUT       PROFILES2.SAVF

QUOTE   RCMD   RSTLIB   SAVLIB(PROFILES2)   DEV(*SAVF)   SAVF(QGPL/PROFILES2)

 Note:  If there is a security problem restoring all objects with the command above,  sign on to your as/400 as Qsecofr and run RSTLIB  from the command line.

You can also use the omit parameters with CMD 4  The first  parameter will omit all profiles beginning with the letter entered. Use Q to bypass IBM profiles (QSECOFR QSYSOPR ETC)  You can then enter up to 10 complete profiles to omit.
